There's a new commercial that's inciting my ire. This one is for Special K Protein Water. A girl ducks out of the rain and stands under a candy shop awning. Her doe eyes get large as she watches a cascading stream of hard candies and the announcer informs us that the big-eyed girl is hungry, oh so hungry. Except, if she indulges in some candy, it will somehow ruin her day. I don't know who the announcer is. God, maybe? Instead, she drinks some Protein Water and then ventures out into the rain, shunning the calories and apparently, depression, fat and eternal damnation. Or something like that. My first reaction is, naturally, WTF? I mean, when I'm hungry? I do NOT reach for hard candy. Just like the number of licks it takes to get to the center of a Tootsie Pop, candy is gone way too quickly and does absolutely nothing for hunger.
