Paneer Tikka is one. Soak cubes of Indian Paneer and bell peppers in Mixture of (Yogurt, Red Chillies, Tandoori spice, and turmeric powder, cumin powder) for 2 hours. And then grill it. Add some lemon juice on the Tikka before serving. Eat with Cilantro chutney.

Just about any veggie. I love grilled asparagus and broccoli. Wrap in tin foil drizzle with olive oil and a grill seasoning (salt&pepper) mix. Make sure to turn the packet so the stuff on bottom doesn’t burn. Toss some corn on the cob in the husk in an indirect heat area and try that.

I like taking banana peppers and putting cheese on them, that is good….and potatoes that have butter and dill on them.

When my family goes camping, we put raw hamburger, onions, peppers, potaotes and carrots, seasoned however each person likes, into aluminum foil and put into the hot coals of a fire. It only takes about 15 minutes to cook. You could do this vegetarian if you like. You can also use different meats.

Yes. Fresh ears of corn. You peel back the husks but don’t take them off. Remove all the silk, then coat the ear in butter an d salt and pepper. Then pull the husks back up and you can wrap them in foils too if you want. Then place in the fire. Cook till done. About the same time as the potatoes. yummy

Potatoes are good, but also carrots and green beans. i like onions, for some reason vidalia work the best, and they also grill nicely. add to that some summer squash. and don’t forget to bring some carribean jerk seasoning.

almost all when brushed with a mild olive oil and a litte bit of crushed garlic.

You can wrap up corn on the cob too- you could wrap almost any fresh veggie up in aliminum foil and it will steam in there- be nice and tender when you take it out! I’d suggest you put the foil wrapped potatoes directly into the fire though or you will be waiting FOREVER for them to get done.

corn on the cob, wrap it up same as you do the potatoes, or hold it with tongs over the fire. Don’t peel the corn till after it cooks, it will steam then in it’s own leaves. Really tasty… also, you can make veggie kabobs! Green peppers, onions, mushrooms, tomatoes. Good stuff.

  19. KathyS says:

Onions, peppers, squash etc. Any veggie can be cooked on a campfire but for some you may need to cook them in an aluminum foil pan..add some butter and seasonings and cook..just like you would on a stove.

  20. LFCJakeG says:

any types of peppers, mushrooms, tomatoes.
good thinking on the foil. Maybe add some butter and seasoning to make it really yummy.

  21. The_Myst says:

Anything you can cook on a barbecue grill can also be cooked on a campfire.

any that are big enough that they dont fall through the grate. its all good and tasty…..gotta have some good meat to go with and that’ll be kinda like a shish-kabob eh…..

  24. Ava says:

OOoooh!! Bring stuff like smore stuff, and stuff you can eat with your hands, like carrots dipped in ranch. Hot tang is really good too!! Just heat up water, then put tang mix in it!! Really good. PB&J is great.

Corn on the cob, baked beans, leave in can and set directly in fire. These are my favorites.

    Asparagus and sweet potatoes.
    For dessert…sliced pineapples.

  27. Linn E says:

    That’s good for starters……
Any veggie is good if it fits on a skewer
Also, you can clean corn on the cob, leaving it in the shuck, and roast the ears.
One of my most favorite camping meals…..
Hot dog on shaved hickory stick ( or hot doge skewer), wrapped in biscuit dough, roasted over open fire. oh yeah!
AND for breakfast….. just wrap the biscuit dough around the stick and pinch the top closed. When the dough is done, take off the stick, turn upside down, and put squeeze butter or syrup down the hole. OOOOOOOOOOO Yeah!

  28. Pablo says:

My personal choice: corn on the cob.

Just think of what you might grill at home. Corn, onions, bell peppers, pretty much anything can be cooked over a fire.

try some squash and onions and peppers in tin foil with seasoning and a little butter on them……sooooo goood!!!!!!!!!
also…quarter a cabbage…..sprinkle with some worcestshire sauce and salt and pepper……wrap in foil and cook on grill till tender (these take longer than squash etc)
    very very tasty

I like to do sliced potatoes with carrots. Also, corn soaked in water overnight then cooked on the coals of the fire is delicious.
