What Size Engine Do I Need To Pull A Caravan?

i'm looking to buy a van (eg a transit) to pull a 4 berth caravan. Approx what size engine should the van have in order to pull caravan easily? 1.8? 2.5?

the 1.8 is probably to small, 2.5 would be best or are these diesels? In that case u might get away with 1.8 if it has a turbo.

Unless your looking to use it as accomodation on , for example a building site, you`ll find that most caravan sites will be VERY reluctant to let you in. They will assume you are a “traveller” Consider a big Volvo or similar.It`s not engine size that matters. it`s the kerbweight. The caravan must not weigh more than the car towing it !
