GPS units do show surrounding streets, and you can zoom in or out to see a smaller or bigger area. The problem is that they don’t show street names except for the one you are on and the next cross street or the next turn for you. Some also show “points of interest” like landmarks, hotels and restaurants, etc. Generally you’ll see other streets if you zoom out but not street names. Your best bet is probably google map.
