Difference between Honor platoon Marines and a regular Marine graduate. Why are they called honor platoons too.

While you are in military boot camp how do you communicate with your outside family. do you get to make phone calls home? is there even a point in having a cell phone while your in the military. once you get out of boot camp then are you allowed to have a cell phone while on base to use during your personal time?

I’m going in the national guard reserves for 21r Electrician(Leave for boot camp & AIT next week). mostly because it’s a critical field here and I want to finish college before I go and do something more…Exciting(So I have somewhere to go after future retirement). But back on point, What happens if you change your MOS after AIT? and is it possible to switch from Reserves NG to Active Duty Army? Thanks prior for reading and answering.

I am leaving on Oct. 29 and Navy boot camp is 8 weeks, so I’ll be graduating a few days after Christmas. What happens? I know all the officers and instructors go home so will I just sit in Chicago until I can be sent to Pensacola or will I get a chance to go home? I know this will give me negative days but I will be in Pensacola for a long time on hold and going through Aircrew training so it won’t be hard to earn them back.
