I am considering back packing and dont know what fuel to use. Would I get more cooking time for weight from sterno, propane, or Smoething else? Also, how can i make a simple dehidrator, a water purifier, and what should i pack? What are some good websites about hiking and backpacking?

I know you use something sharp, but where do you cut? I often cut off an entire side and realize I haven’t broken the seal. Any suggestions?
