I saw that one store was saying that they work right out of the box, while another was giving installation. Just wondering if the installation is a rip-off or something.

I am trying to find a good portable gps for the car. Does anyone have an idea on which is the best? There are so many that I am not sure which to buy. It is a little overwhelming and I am getting disgusted. I don’t want to get ripped off, or get something out of date. HELP!

I am looking into buying a car navigation system (GPS) but am totally clueless as to what features to look for, as well as what brands/models/prices are “good”. Any advice? Any reputable websites or stores that might also be able to help?

Any ideas? If it helps, we have been traveling through mountains and across ferries. The only things I could think of would slow the average speed and not increase it. Could it be that we adjusted the clock back 3 hours?
