I am trying to select a course which i have transferred over to my phone, but i can’t open it with freecaddie. I have followed all instructions but nothing is working. Any suggestions?

There is an option on Google Maps that activates the GPS, but it doesn’t appear as it should be. Doesn’t give directions either.It’s just a dot on Google’s map. Do I need to install sth like the Destinator7?Can’t I avoid it?Please help
