I have a dodge caravan mini van. In past 3 weeks it stopped in the middle of the road twice and it did not move despite pushing the gas pedal all the way. But after a couple of hours I could run it again. Is this a transmission problem?

my wiper stopped working, then my back door kept popping open, now i can’t get it to open . can anyone help me ?
this is in regards to my previous question about my car not going into gear. It is a 98 Dodge caravan.
My mom’s 2002 Dodge Caravan has only 15,000 miles on it, has been serviced regularly, and at the last service the computer hookup (which cost $63, not at a Dodge dealer) indicated “emissions problem.” The repairman said emissions problems are covered forever, not just under a regular warranty, but said we should take it to a Dodge dealer. Is that true? The dealer we contacted indicated that working on the emissions system would not be covered and we would have to pay for any work done. The malfunction indicator is not flashing, just a steady yellow/orange glow.
I’m going on a camping trip with my day camp( It’s in a tent, sleeping bags, the whole thing). I’ve always hated the night time part (I’ve done it before and hated it). It’s completely dark, really stuffy, and I always wake up sick (Cold symptoms) for some reason. I can also never sleep. As strange as this is, yeah, I’m still afraide of the dark. I also can’t sleep if it’s too warm. Is there anything any of you can suggest to help me solve these problems? I want to go camping this year because it’s the last year I can, and the reasons I don’t want to go are really petty. Plus, it’s only one night. I’d just like to know if there’s anything I could do to make this situation a little more convienient for myself, lol. Thanks in advance.
It happens once every month or so and continues for about 30 minutes. It wreaks havock with my door locks and alarm when I am driving because the car thinks the door is opening and closing.
.
The way it comes and goes, it seems like a failing relay or other component rather than a door switch. Most of the time, all door switches work normally and I can’t make this happen, or stop happening by playing with them.
Any suggestions??
After a few miles of slower driving the problem went away. We were on the freeway with the van loaded with camping stuff when it happened.
we have had the rack and pinion check some say it is ok and others say it needs to be changed. How do I know if the whining when we turn the steering wheel is not from the power steering pump? We have taken it to about five different mechanics. what can i do to make sure we dont replace something that does not need repair?
do you think it is too early to take my new puppy camping with me she will be 81/2 weeks old is that too soon??? we are tenting too in the mountains????
when the van gets drove for a while it wont shift into drive? it has 244,000 miles on it.
